Unable to Pay Fine

You may be unable to pay your fine online because:

Your fine can't be found

If your fine was recently issued by the Police it may not yet be registered on our system. If this is the case please try again in a few days.

The final payment date has passed

Some fines can only be paid up to 28 days after they were issued.

Your Fine is Endorsable

Your fine is Endorsable -  If your fine carries penalty points (i.e. your Driving Licence required to be endorsed) you may not be able to pay your fine online. If you are unable to pay your fine online you must either take or post your Driving Licence and Counterpart along with your payment to any Sheriff or Justice of the Peace Court. Fines of this type are identified at the foot of the ticket, as shown below.

Example of Endorsable Fine

An enforcement action has been applied to your fine

If your fine is overdue it may be subject to ongoing enforcement action and you may be unable to pay your fine online. For further details you should contact any Sheriff or JP Court.

Your account has been paid in full

If your account has been paid in full (i.e. it has a zero outstanding balance) no further action is required by you.

The account for your fine is closed

If your account has been closed (for example, if it has been withdrawn) no further action is required by you.

Your account is locked

If you make too many incorrect attempts to enter the correct validation information (i.e. Surname or Vehicle Registration) your account will be locked and you will be unable to pay your fine online. For further details you should contact any Sheriff or JP Court.

Your fine has been transferred to a Non-Scottish Court

You should continue to make payments to your nominated Non-Scottish Court and they will send your payment to the appropriate Scottish Court.
